SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Despite the snowfall, an annual tradition in downtown Sioux Falls pressed on.
Last year, thousands packed downtown for the Parade of Lights despite bitterly cold temperatures . The 33rd edition of the Parade of Lights saw a similar response. Spectators found a way to get to the heart of the city and watch the 80 entries.
On Friday, Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc. (DTSF) announced that the show must go on to kick off the holiday season, keeping it merry and bright.
“It’s the 33rd annual Parade of Lights. We’re not going to stop on the 33rd because of a little snow. We choose to live in South Dakota. We know that this is part of the gig,” explained DTSF CEO Brandon Hanson.
The weather created some difficulty in even getting downtown for the festivities.
