On Saturday at 12:25 a.m. a winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service valid from Sunday 1 a.m. until Monday 1 a.m. for Northern Herkimer and Hamilton County.

"Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches," can be expected according to the weather service. "Periods of snow will develop late Saturday night and continue into Sunday. Snowfall rates may be close to one inch per hour at times on Sunday morning into the early afternoon hours."

"Travel could be hazardous due to snow covered roadways and reduced visibility," says the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling."
