The magic of Teurlings Catholic football slowly began to wear off as each minute drained from the clock during its quarterfinals matchup against John Curtis Christian.

After 11 straight wins in a row and a perfect regular season finish, the Rebels had finally met their match, losing to the Patriots 21-7 on Nov. 28 to end their 2025 season.

“I told the kids there’s only one team that’s happy at the end and it’s just not us,” Teurlings coach Micheal Courville said. “When we made mistakes, they made us pay and whenever they made a couple we just didn’t really capitalize on them. Tonight, they were just better than us.”

This sour taste of an end to the season is far from what many the No. 2-seeded Rebels were hoping for as they were the last area team in the running for the LHSAA Select Div
