Ipswich Town lost 2-1 at Oxford United last night. Stuart Watson reflects on the action.
ENOUGH CHANCES
Oxford have a small budget, look set to be in another relegation scrap and therefore set up accordingly against the big boys. You can't blame them.
The U's game plan was to sit deep, be organised and see if they could strike via a set-piece, counter-attack or by capitalising on a mistake. And that's exactly what they pulled off.
But if Town had taken the lead at any point then the home side would have been forced to respond and spaces would likely have opened up.
It's true that Town's controlled possession often lacked tempo in the first half, and a failure to produce a single shot on target come the break reflected that. Nevertheless, there were chances to break the deadlock. Good
