Ben Whittaker makes his Matchroom Boxing debut this evening when he takes on Benjamin Gavazi at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

The light-heavyweight is a rising star in his division, and has just signed to Eddie Hearn’s promotion after claiming the IBF International light-heavyweight title back in June last year.

Now, he fights for the WBC Silver light-heavyweight belt against the German Gavazi, who is 19 unbeaten.

Whittaker is a heavy favourite despite his opponent’s impressive run, and he will be out to make statement as he prepares for a big 2026.

Whittaker, 28, won silver at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo and is 9-1 in his professional career, with the only blemish on his record being a draw against Liam Cameron in October last year.
