A violent head-on collision shut down a busy stretch of Lampeter Road after two people were killed and two others were left in critical condition, authorities announced in a release on Saturday, Nov. 29.
The crash happened at Lampeter Road and Paramount Avenue at 9:41 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, according to West Lampeter Township Police.
Crews arrived to find two heavily damaged vehicles — a white Honda Civic with a male driver inside, and a white Nissan sedan carrying two females and a male, police said.
The man.driving the Honda and a woman who was a passenger in the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene, investigators detailed.
The other two occupants of the Nissan were taken to Lancaster General Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The roadway was closed for several hours while the Lancaster County Crash Investigation Team processed the scene, according to the release.
The crash remains under investigation. Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call West Lampeter Township Police at 717-464-2421, authorities said. No names have been released until families are notified.
