Employees of the Roswell Museum will soon occupy a temporary space at Roswell Air Center after repairs and modifications at this location are complete.
This airport location won't be a site for the museum's art displays, but it will serve as a workspace for staging exhibits and the ongoing effort to sort through the museum's extensive inventory.
Flooding in October 2024 inundated the museum, planetarium and an array of various structures and dwellings in Roswell and Chaves County. Two people died and dozens were injured. The region was overwhelmed by the effects of record-breaking rainfall on the area's waterways. Between 4-5 feet of mud and other debris moved through the museum and rose to a height of about six feet within the planetarium alone.
The museum is leasing an 8,100² ft space
