Concerns over how proposed parking zones could impact the safety of people working night shifts have been raised by a Glasgow councillor. During this week’s environment and liveable neighbourhoods committee questions were asked by councillor Stephen Docherty over how people travelling to and from a night shift would manage as there are fewer modes of public transport at that time.
It comes as a document detailing the next steps of Glasgow’s proposed parking zones was presented to elected members. The local authority is proposing new parking controls in parts of the city to ease congestion, improve traffic flow and better manage limited road space to ensure fairer access for residents, businesses and visitors.
