The bitter cold couldn’t stop senior running back Marty Tobin and his Walsh Jesuit High School football teammates and coaches from lingering on the field at the University of Akron.

Hugs, handshakes, tears and heart-to-heart talks followed Walsh’s 38-7 loss to Avon in a Division II state semifinal on Nov. 28 .

Coach Nick Alexander consoled countless players, including Tobin . They returned the favor while expressing gratitude and encouragement.
