A Coatbridge paramedic has won the World Catch Wrestling Championship for a third time, beating top competitors from England, Italy and Moldova. Finn Marshall has been with the Scottish Ambulance Service for 12 years and represented Scotland and Great Britain in the competition.
He won the under 74kg's category competing in Catch Wrestling, which originated in Wigan, Lancashire and is a style where wrestlers aim to win by pinning or submitting their opponent. It was popularised by Wigan native Billy Riley, and the World Championships are held in Wigan each year.
Finn credits the support of managers and colleagues at the SAS for helping him compete at the highest level.
