“Coffee bean to cup.”

Those were the exact words I found myself saying this week as I sat in the waiting room before my MRI scan.

It’s surreal how quickly everything is moving.

My feet barely touched the ground last week: scans, meetings with my brain oncologist, treatment plans.

Before I could even come up for air, I was right back in for more scans at my six-week review with my brain surgeon.

That’s why I said it to the nurse “coffee bean to cup.”

It’s my morning ritual, the place I ground myself before MY daily grind begins.

Coffee, for me, isn’t about caffeine or productivity.

It transforms me from a human doing into a human being. It slows everything down.

I even have a poster at home that reminds me: mindful morning coffee.
