HUNTINGTON — The extension of a season is at stake in a battle of 5-6 football teams on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Joan C. Edwards Stadium with Marshall and Georgia Southern.
With identical motives, Thundering Herd coach Tony Gibson wants Marshall to play its best before worrying about the rest.
“Our season being extended is on the line,” Gibson said. “What we have to do is be the best you. Carlos [Del Rio-Wilson] has to the best him. Jo’Shon [Barbie] needs to be the best him. Cam Smith needs to be the best him. Do your best. Don’t worry about winning. Let’s worry about getting you as good as we can by Saturday. If we do that collectively, we’ll be OK. We’ll like the result. That’s how we’ll approach it.”
Seventeen Marshall players are slated to participate in senior day festivities: quar
