A Labrador was left fighting for her life after being bitten by a snake while her owner was on holiday in Mallorca. Sarah Guy, 58, received a text from a close friend that said "Not to panic but Nala has been bitten by a snake."

Three-year-old Nala was being looked after by friend Sally and her 19-year-old daughter Olivia but what should have been an ordinary walk on the West Highland Way could have cost the beloved pet her life. While sniffing about on a verge, Nala suddenly jumped back but there was no yelp of pain or anything to suggest something was wrong.
