Heavy rain in Greater Manchester today is set to make way for brighter conditions, according to Met Office forecasters.

Today (Saturday) is set to be mostly rainy on our region, with showers forecasters on-and-off into the evening. Forecasters predict the downpours will be heavy at times, with some lighter showers also forecaster through the day.

The rain is expected to ease off at around 9pm this evening. The temperature will reach a high of around 6C this afternoon, though it will feel chilly as it will feel more like 3C.

But according to the Met Office, conditions are set to approve into Sunday as the rain clears overnight. Sunny spells are expected through most of the day on Sunday and to end the weekend.
