Peyton Koukides spends a lot of time with sturgeon. Koukides, of Le Roy, is an undergraduate at Canisius University majoring in animal behavior, ecology, and conservation and minoring in anthrozoology and education.

And as part that, she’s conducting a research project at the Aquarium of Niagara studying lake sturgeon and their behaviors within the facility’s touch pool.
