Santander has issued a £120 warning to customers - after £4,000 was stolen by fraudsters in just three months. Santander has issued a warning over a rise in scams that have seen customers lose an average of £120.

The bank, which has branches in Birmingham , warned that weight loss injection and supplement scams have soared by 143%. Data shows that between July and September, the average weight loss scam cost Santander customers £120, with almost £4,000 being stolen in this period.

Scams involving weight loss injections, pens, tablets and fat-dissolving products have risen sharply, with £3,742 stolen by fraudsters in the third quarterof this year – more than double (143% increase) the amount reported in the previous quarter.
