An exciting opportunity awaits property seekers as the last remaining windmill in a North Yorkshire town has hit the market.
The 18th century windmill, which has been transformed into luxury apartments, is for sale in Scarborough for £695,000.
It has stood in Mill Street since the 1780s and is thought to have been part of a corn mill.
The windmill was earmarked for demolition in the 1980s but locals rallied to save it before the structure was transformed into a hotel and restaurant.
It was later converted into the 11-bedroom property which has most recently been used as holiday accommodation.
Silver Tree estate agents, which is marketing the property, said it is “steeped in history”, with previous mills believed to have stood on the same site for more than 500 years.
