Staff at the Mary H. Weir Public Library threw a surprise party Tuesday for Library Director Rik Rekowski, who is retiring following almost 45 years of service to the library. The library’s board of trustees is planning a public reception to honor Rekowski and his career in late January. Taking part in the celebration were, in front from left, Mary Zweirzchowski, Connie Fancalski, Carolyn Mizok, Don Bane, Roberta Fedoush, and in back, Nikki Jagela, Sue Tucker Bateman, Karen Padden, Angela McUmer, Rik Rekowski, Naedia McCann, Mary Wylie, and Donna Davis.
