GIDDINGS, Texas (KBTX) - The Iola Bulldogs (7-4) fell to Shiner (13-0) 34-14 in the 2A-II regional semifinals at Buffalo Stadium.

This was Iola’s deepest playoff run since 2017.

The Bulldogs were able to establish a run game early and scored their first touchdown of the game late in the first quarter on their first pass play. Quarterback Tyler Elliot found Jack Smith for the TD to take a 7-6 lead.

The Comanches took control of the game from there, pulling out the 20-point victory to remain undefeated on the season and advance to the regional finals.
