The good news for Spring Valley's football team is, it's within one game of playing for the state championship. The bad news is, it has to beat Princeton to get there.
The Timberwolves (9-3) take on the host Tigers (12-0) at 7 p.m. Saturday in the WVSSAC Class AAA high school football semifinals. The winner advances to the state championship game at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 at University of Charleston Stadium at Laidley Field in Charleston.
Princeton made it to the title game in 2023 and the semifinals last year. Spring Valley made the final three years in a row from 2016 through 2018, falling to Martinsburg each time.
The teams are a profile in opposite attacks. The Timberwolves are run-heavy behind 1,000-yard rusher Zeke Lewis and Miguel Cain, who's surpassed 700 yards. Fullback Cam Perdue also
