Frederick outlines spending, seeks public input in budgeting process

Approximately 34 cents of every tax dollar goes to the city’s police department, according to a presentation made by Frederick city officials Monday.

The second largest expenditure in the city’s operating budget is public works, taking 17 cents of every tax dollar. The public works department maintains city infrastructure like roads and water lines.
