Criminal charges were dropped against a Brainerd man, 23, for his alleged role in promoting an Aug. 16 dog fight incident at a north Brainerd home. Neighbors heard two men provoking pit bulls to fight each other, but the county attorney said there was insufficient evidence to obtain a conviction.

30 years ago (1995)

The city council has accepted the parks and recreation department’s recommendation to pursue a Mills Field lease with a Prairie League baseball team. Citizens can help pick the team's name by mailing names to the Dispatch. Perhaps the Lakers, or Muskies – but certainly not the Bears.
