The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has awarded Minerva Elementary School for its efforts with a program that encourages good behavior and safety in the schools.

Minerva Elementary School’s was honored for its work with the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports program.

It received the PBIS Silver Award.

The program has three key pillars – be safe; be responsible; and be respectful.

Minerva Elementary Principal Becky Miller said the school’s staff is pleased to win the award.

"We are very proud to earn Silver status for our PBIS programming at (Minerva Elementary),” Miller said. “Our staff works incredibly hard to create a welcoming, safe, and nurturing learning environment for all."
