December has yet to hit Hoosier calendars, and already Indiana is already bracing for its second snowfall of the season.

November snow isn't entirely unusual in Indiana; just last year, the state saw 2 to 4 inches across the central plains in November. But this is the first winter storm warning that the Indianapolis NWS office has issued since at least 2008 — which is as far back as they could find records, according to Andrew White, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service of Indianapolis.

The National Weather Service is predicting 2 to 5 inches of snow in Indianapolis , and the outlook is so hazardous in some areas that the agency issued a winter storm warning.
