CLEVELAND, Ohio – What not too long ago was a small mosque and school on Cleveland’s far southwest side is now bursting at the seams – prompting long-term plans that could cover more than a city block with a bigger school, athletic fields, community park and more.
Next up is a store as a start to a small plaza across the street and a new wing for Al Ihsan School, adding nine classrooms, two science labs and administrative space. Construction could begin early next year.
But it’s the broader vision shared by representatives of the Al Alomary Mosque at a recent city Planning Commission meeting that signals a new wave of growth and rising demand just south of Kamm’s Corners.
