David Martindale says he had John Beaton on the phone to apologise for the VAR clanger that cost his side a penalty against Rangers .
And the Livingston boss says he believed the Scottish Premiership would be better off without the tech – even before the latest high-profile mishap.
Martindale said after his side's 2-1 defeat at Ibrox that he didn't even feel there was a point complaining to head of refereeing Willie Collum after his side were denied a first-half penalty for handball by Emmanuel Fernandez.
Tete Yengi had cancelled out Fernandez's opener before the big defender appeared to handle the ball in the area. But referee Ross Hardie didn't get it and Beaton in the VAR room elected not to intervene.
