LITCHFIELD — A 17-foot balsam fir from Turck’s Trees was delivered to the State Capitol earlier this week to be decorated Monday as this year’s Capitol Christmas tree.

Turck’s Trees, a tree farm located near Litchfield, was selected for the honor by winning grand champion at the Minnesota State Fair earlier this year.

“It is a long-standing Minnesota tradition, but the first time for Turck’s Trees,” the news release reads.

The tree was delivered to St. Paul on Tuesday and set up in the rotunda by Capitol staff, according to a news release from Turck’s Trees. The tree will remain up for public view past Christmas.
