Five cats have been hurled from a van in a shocking act of cruelty.
The animals - including a mother and her two kittens - were discovered in a crate on Ford Lane, in Crewe, after a dog-walker witnessed the disturbing incident.
The creatures had been flung from a white van with a black roof rack at 4.30am on Tuesday 25 November. The mother and her two kittens are still receiving veterinary treatment.
The RSPCA is now investigating the matter. The cats are microchipped - but there are no current details on the chips.
Inspector Caren Goodman said: "To throw cats, including kittens that are so young, out into the cold at this time of year is a horrific thing to do and we are appealing for anyone who may know something about these pets to get in touch.
"These are very domestic
