The Met Office has issued a rare amber weather warning spanning 24 hours that could see up to 120mm of torrential rain and severe flooding in some places. The latest warning is in place for Wales, running from midnight on Monday until 11.59pm the same day.
"Fast-flowing" or "deep floodwater" is possible, which could cause "danger to life". Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to come buildings, while commuters have been warned about possible delays or cancellations to train and bus services. Spray and flooding could also lead to treacherous driving conditions and some road closures, while there is also the possibility of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses.
