A guest who 'completely trashed' a hotel room and left blood on the floors and walls has been ordered to pay compensation.
Alexander Sweeney's room at the Crowne Plaza in Newcastle city centre was found wrecked during his stay in September this year, Chronicle Live reports. Staff were first alerted to a 'disturbance' in the room between him and his partner in the early hours.
When the manager at the hotel went into the room, she found found blood on the floors and walls, a framed picture had been smashed, glass was all over the carpet, an air conditioning control unit had been ripped from the wall, a light had been damaged and the bulb taken out and the curtains had been pulled off their railings. Sweeney was arrested but later claimed to have no memory of the evening.
