It’s not just shopping malls and storefronts that are beginning to look a lot like Christmas — the annual deluge of holiday TV programming is well underway.

A sample of my recent emails includes an offer to review “A Very Jonas Christmas Movie” on Disney Plus (I declined); news of a Netflix Christmas special featuring controversial comedian Matt Rife ; word that PBS’s “Great Performances” is broadcasting “Nutcracker From English National Ballet”; new Christmas episodes of cosy whodunits like Acorn TV’s “The Madame Blanc Mysteries,” BritBox’s “Death in Paradise” and CBC’s “Murdoch Mysteries”; and Citytv’s festive schedule, including the first ever holiday specials for “Dancing With the Stars” and Bryan Adams.

And I haven’t even touched on Hallmark Channel’s annual Countdown to Christmas
