Security will be stepped up at a Black Country shopping centre after a teenager was chased and stabbed with a machete.

Police and paramedics rushed to Merry Hill just after 3.30pm on Friday (November 28) after disorder broke out between two groups.

They chased each other and a 17-year-old was knifed with a machete in Eat Central, in front of horrified Black Friday shoppers.

In light of the incident, a spokesperson for the centre said there would be "increased security, as well as police presence, in the centre this weekend."
