PORTSMOUTH — Police officers are investigating a homicide that occurred Nov. 26 on Jefferson Street, according to a press release from the Portsmouth police.
At approximately 10:19 p.m. Nov. 26, Portsmouth police officers responded to a shooting in the 600 block of Jefferson Street, off Portsmouth Boulevard. A man had life-threatening injuries due to a gunshot wound. Police identified him as Darryl D. Ferguson, and he later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. He was 39 years old.
This is an active investigation and police did not release any additional information.
