SAGINAW, MI – Age is certainly just a number to dance instructor Theresa Marshall, also known as the “Hustle Lady.”
At 73 years old, Marshall, a Saginaw native, runs her own business, Hustle 365, teaching others in the Saginaw community how to bust a move just like her.
Her classes at the Houghton-Jones Community Center, 1708 Johnson St., are particularly special to her because she used to live a couple blocks away on Seventh Street.
“My daughter told me, she said, ‘Mama,’ she said, ‘You always telling somebody what to do, why don’t you teach a class?’ I never thought about that,” Marshall said.
That was all Marshall needed to launch her dance classes in 2005.
Marshall’s interest and knowledge in dance traces back to her childhood.
“My mother, she was always dancing.” Marshall said.
