An ice warning has been issued for parts of the North East today, Saturday November 29, with a combination of heavy rain and freezing temperatures expected to lead to some disruption. It is one of several weather warnings to be issued across the UK as November comes to a turbulent end.

The Yellow ice warning will come into force at 10pm on Saturday night, and remain in place until 9am on Sunday morning, November 30. The alert covers the westernmost areas of the region, with parts of Northumberland and County Durham set to be worst affected, following heavy rain that is likely to turn to hail for some areas in the evening with some snow expected over the
