The Met Office has announced two yellow weather warnings for Merseyside as temperatures are expected to fall. The alerts, one for rain and another for ice, cover several regions across the UK.
The first warning, which relates to icy conditions, will be in effect from 10pm tonight until 9am tomorrow. The second warning, focussed on heavy rainfall, will run from midnight on Monday until 3am on Tuesday.
According to the Met Office, the ice warning follows earlier rainfall combined with rapidly dropping temperatures, which are likely to fall below freezing.
As a result, untreated surfaces may become icy, creating potentially hazardous travel conditions.
