Rare amber warning issued for Bristol Channel with 'danger to life' View Image

An amber weather warning for rain has been issued throughout Monday, which includes parts of the Bristol Channel.

The 24-hour alert covers much of South Wales, up to the Gloucestershire border.

The Met Office is forecasting heavy rainfall starting on Sunday night and carrying on into Monday, with as much as 120mm of precipitation expected in some areas.

"Heavy rain is likely to bring some disruption and probable flooding on Monday," an update on the Met Office said.

Due to the expected deluge on Monday, fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, which could cause a danger to life, the Met Office warned. Strong winds are expected to accompany the heavy rain, particularly in coastal areas.
