When it comes to dog toys some are designed for interaction between the dog and owner and others are simply for the dog to self-indulge independently.
Take for example a tennis ball. Most dogs enjoy chasing a tennis ball and playing fetch with their owners which is a great interactive way of having some good solid fun. Through playing fetch with your dog, you also build a great recall which is important. For dogs that don’t return the ball, I recommend using a long line to teach them to bring them back to you.
When finished playing fetch with a tennis ball, I recommend putting it away in a drawer, so your dog doesn’t rip it apart, exposing the black rubber core, which is toxic. I realize there are some dogs that would never destroy a tennis ball, but many dogs will devour them.
Not ever
