Nov. 29 is recognized as Small Business Saturday nationwide, with thousands of businesses in the state and the Mahoning Valley celebrating.
“From our largest cities to our rural towns, small businesses play a critical role in Ohio's success," said Governor Mike DeWine. "Every dollar spent locally creates opportunities for Ohioans, supports families, and keeps our communities thriving.”
Ohio has more than 87,000 small business retailers and 1.1 million small businesses statewide, according to a news release, with small businesses employing more than 2.2 million Ohioans.
" These are the businesses who donate to the community sports teams, or take ads out in your child's or grandchild's theater, gymnastics or other activities programs or just make small donations for different fundraisers
