The Clutha Bar in Glasgow will hold a minute's silence tonight in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash in 2013.

On this day, 12 years ago, just after 10pm, a police helicopter heading back to base fell out of the sky and crashed through the roof of the Stockwell Street pub, killing 10 people and injuring many more.

More than 100 people were in the popular bar. Seven ­customers died – John McGarrigle, 57, Mark O’Prey, 44, Gary Arthur, 48, Colin Gibson, 33, Robert Jenkins, 61, and Samuel McGhee 56, and Joe Cusker, 59, who was pulled from the wreckage alive but later passed away in hospital.

All three people in the Eurocopter EC135 were killed – pilot David Traill, 51, and police constables Tony ­Collins, 43, and Kirsty Nelis, 36.
