Michael Callahan’s return to Providence was a short one.
Henri Jokiharju is the latest Bruins player to go on the shelf with an injury.
The Bruins placed the Finnish defenseman on injured reserve on Friday and recalled Callahan, a Franklin native, from the AHL. Callahan had been sent down on Friday, has been recalled on an emergency basis.
After Friday’s loss to the Rangers, the injury worry was about Jonathan Aspirot, who had to leave the game for a stretch of the third period after being accidentally hit in the face with a stick. But he returned to the game and is expected to play Saturday vs. Detroit.
Jokiharju played 20:51 in Friday’s game and didn’t have an apparent injury. He has six assists this season and has played in 24 of the Bruins’ 25 games.
He joins Charlie McAvoy
