Anthony Davis made his long-awaited return to Crypto.com Arena on Friday night, as he starred for the Dallas Mavericks against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers for the first time since the infamous Luka Dončić trade.

It was a quiet return for Davis, who finished with 12 points, five rebounds, five assists and three blocks in a 129-119 loss. What seemed even quieter was the postgame interaction between Davis and James, as captured by ESPN Los Angeles. James is seen dapping up another former teammate, Kyrie Irving, with a listless Davis standing right beside them and avoiding eye contact.

So, did James give Davis the cold shoulder despite them winning an NBA championship together back in 2020? It doesn't appear so. In the replies to ESPN Los Angeles' post, a user shared a different video of James greeting Davis as the game clock ticked down to zero.

Davis clearly came into this game with extra motivation, so it's understandable he looked disappointed when it didn't go his way. At least his former teammate Rui Hachimura gave him a big hug in an attempt to cheer him up.
