ARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- The winter weather made its way through our area and left its mark with wintry precipitation hitting parts of Illinois and Missouri. It's important to make sure you know what the roads are like if you go out.

As roads become slick, crashes and slide-offs are more frequent.

Transportation departments across Illinois and Missouri are doing everything they can to help make sure to keep the roads clear from any ice or snow.
