Anthony Davis’ injury challenges continued into the 2025-26 NBA season. After playing only five games, he suffered a left calf strain that sidelined him for an extended period. During his absence, the team struggled on the court.

Davis made his highly anticipated return in a recent game against the Los Angeles Lakers, his former team. In that game, he played for 28 minutes and contributed 12 points, five assists, and five rebounds.

Standout rookie Cooper Flagg played 36 minutes, scoring 13 points, along with 11 assists and seven rebounds. PJ Washington also made a significant impact, scoring 22 points with one assist and nine rebounds. However, despite Davis’ return, the Mavericks lost the game, with a final score of 129-119.
