The Glasgow bar which had a helicopter crash through its roof will hold a minute’s silence tonight on the 12th anniversary of the tragedy which claimed 10 lives. More than 100 people were in the popular Clutha Bar when the accident happened on November 29, 2013.
Just after 10pm, a police helicopter heading back to base fell out of the sky and crashed through the roof of the Stockwell Street pub. Seven customers died – John McGarrigle, 57, Mark O’Prey, 44, Gary Arthur, 48, Colin Gibson, 33, Robert Jenkins, 61, and Samuel McGhee 56, and Joe Cusker, 59, who was pulled from the wreckage alive but later passed away in hospital.
Many more were injured. All three people in the Eurocopter EC135 were killed – pilot David Traill, 51, and police constables Tony Collin
