MADISON, Wis. -- Madison declared a snow emergency on Saturday, amidst a major snowstorm that will likely bring 8-12 inches to the city.
Alternate side parking is in effect. Residents can park for free at city garages with gated sections from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
If drivers enter before 9:00pm or leave after 7:00am, you will need to pay parking fees for the extra time.
Streets will continue to be plowed throughout the day, and snowfall will increase in intensity later this afternoon. As a result, travel conditions are anticipated to worsen.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution when driving.
