A months-long child-exploitation investigation has led to the arrest of a Westchester County man accused of sharing graphic sexual material involving a minor.
The case began in February 2024, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported suspected child sexual-abuse content being shared on a social media platform, according to New York State Police.
Investigators traced the activity to a home in Somers and executed a search warrant, seizing several electronic devices for forensic review.
After analyzing the digital evidence with the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, investigators concluded that Andrew Giannetta, 34, shared illegal child-sex material online, police said.
Giannetta was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 26, and charged with two felony counts of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child under 17. He was arraigned in Somers Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.
Anyone with information about child exploitation or abuse is urged to contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 or submit a report online.
