Both teams are 5-6, needing one more win to guarantee their bowl eligibility.

Penn State also has plenty to worry about off the field, from deciding who the next permanent head coach will be, to preparing for signing day on Dec. 3. But interim head coach Terry Smith has made it clear his priority, and the team's priority, is to defeat Rutgers on the road and give themselves a chance at a postseason contest.
