TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A Tucson police officer fired their weapon during a traffic stop early Saturday, Nov. 29.
The Tucson Police Department said there were no reported injuries to the community or any officers.
It was the second officer-involved shooting in southern Arizona in hours. Late Friday night, a deputy from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department killed an armed man during an incident near Houghton and Sauharita roads.
The TPD said it incident started as a traffic stop near 22nd and Craycroft around 1 a.m.
The TPD said the officer tried to pull the suspect over for a traffic violation, but the driver refused to stop.
The vehicle then pulled into an apartment complex in the 1200 block of South Craycroft Road. The TPD said the officer later discharged their firearm.
