Dame Esther Rantzen has made a heartbreaking decision as she issued an update on her battle with cancer.

The broadcaster, famous for establishing the charity Childline in 1986, has revealed she is celebrating Christmas early this year because she is not certain about surviving until the festive holiday.

Esther, 85, was diagnosed with lung cancer almost three years ago and heartbreakingly told it was terminal.

She revealed in March that all treatment had stopped working.
